Woman’s apparel retailer Chico’s FAS has chosen Shelley Broader as its new president and CEO effective Dec. 1. Broader is exiting her position as CEO of Walmart Europe, Middle East and Africa where she was responsible for the global operations of 1,345 stores and 285,000 employees.
Broader also worked in executive roles at Micheal’s Stores and the Delhaize Group for a total of 25 years in retail where she served in executive roles as Sam’s Club as well as CEO of Walmart Canada.
"It is an honor to be named President and CEO of Chico's FAS. I am thrilled to lead such a dynamic team," Broader said. "The company has made great strides in improving its operating foundation and benefits from a powerful portfolio of brands, each with a unique identity and opportunity for growth.”
She will also join the Chico's board of directors at that time. She will succeed David F. Dyer, who will become vice chair of the board of directors.

Earlier this year Broader, as the CEO of Walmart's EMEA region overseas, was ranked at No. 14 on Fortune's 2015 Most Powerful Women list, for her leadership in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
